The Western World in Transition
The corpse of Liberalism rots heavily now, the pungent smell travels for miles and its remnants, skeleton governments, that cling to those putrid haunches cannot win against the rightward turn that is dominating the Western world today, the solution of which—in that leftward horizon—goes against liberal doctrine so resolutely, that the lethargic bourgeois leadership would rather plug cotton in their ears and uselessly sacrifice so many men and women for a broken status quo, which Greenland has become one of many unasked symbols of.
Eulogy for the World Wide Web (1993-2025)
How hard is it to put into words what it has meant to us.
A Wrong-popping Bubble and Flower People
I have a recurring nightmare: the bubble introduced by large language models will reach its end-of-life in the near future and instead of popping in an expected form the assets generated by capital expenditures—these now-useless data centres among other things—will be absorbed erroneously and without question by the U.S. government using taxpayer dollars, our loss their gain.
It will only weaken the stock market in a surprisingly small way at first to a tremendous rally but then after the government attempts to absorb the implosion (damaging the dollar permanently) the companies involved will then take a massive hit anyways, annihilating markets, destroying savings and evaporating jobs. Dual totalling damage. It is my great fear as already faltering American liberalism will fully transform to fascism through this catalytic event.
Something from Nothing
A digital rust penetrates into the reaches of civilisation, as far as the internet goes, it goes too.
Fabricated articles referencing fake documents responded to by auto-complete automatons desecrating and mimicking our beautiful human language.
Aquamarine skies with Kodak clouds cast circuit board shadows etching every corner of the human experience and outlining the sum of human knowledge. It retreats into the horizon as a starless night begins to fall.
